How can we live together harmoniously in community? How can we live peacefully together on our common planet? How can we create a planetary community of care? At the European Ecovillage Gathering, we will explore these questions through the unique experiences and practices of ecovillages, blending workshops, sharing and celebration. Together we will connect, expand our wisdom and curiosity, and discover tools to move towards a healthier, more peaceful, and socially just world.
Co-organised in 2023 by GEN Europe, GEN Germany and Nature Community, the Gathering is the annual ‘homecoming’ of the European ecovillage movement and a celebration and exploration of the rich variety of ecovillages and the possibilities they hold for the wider world.
This year, drawing on experiences from within the ecovillage movement and wider social and political realities, our thematic focus is how we can live well together in a changing world. We will showcase the social and conflict resolution tools and community cohesion methods developed over decades in ecovillages; explore connections with global peace movements; and dive deep into the question of how we can truly live well together in our homes, our communities, and on our shared home – our planet.
